For my leadership project; I collected things that people don’t want anymore. I made signs and put them in my neighborhood. I collected thins like toys, old clothes, and furniture.

I gave the things to the Hope House. They are a charity that helps the needy. The reason I picked this charity is because they help people who lived a bad life and are starting over. They do a good job helping people.

My goal was to collect 100 items. I reached my goal. I am really proud of what I did!

One day I was looking at a magazine with my Mom. I saw a picture of a child with a cleft lip. I could not believe that some children are born this way and do not have the money to have a surgery fix them.

I decided that I wanted to help. It costs $250 for the surgery. My goal was to raise the money so that one child could be helped through a charity called Smile Train.

I decided to wash cars and bathe dogs to raise as much money as I could. I was able to make $150! My parents decided to donate the rest.

I collected cloths from family and donated it to goodwill.  I donated because poor people need clothes to live.

After I collected the clothes I loaded the car then my dad drove me to Goodwill.

We received an email broadcast newsletter from Primrose School at Johns Creek asking for help in their annual Can-A-Thon drive in support of the Salvation Army. This year they wanted to collect more than 500 food items and were coming up a little short.

Cathleen was a student at Primrose and her little brother Liam is currently enrolled there and when I mentioned that they needed help collecting food items, Catheen was very excited to help.

She borrowed her next door neighbor’s wagon and went door to door throughout the neighborhood asking people to donate non-perishable food items. She ended up collecting 50 food items and delivered them in person to Primrose where the staff was very appreciative.

They gave a special mention in regards to Cathleen’s efforts:

“We are so thankful for all of your help and we especially want to thank Cathleen Bolger, sister of Liam in our Early Preschool 2 class. She went around her neighborhood with her red flyer wagon collecting 50 cans from her neighbors!!! We are so proud of you Cathleen!

For my project, I collected canned or non-perishable goods to the Food for Thought Project. This organization collects food donations and takes them to the food pantries in Cumming and Forsyth.

I went door-to-door with my sister to houses in my neighborhood to get the items they needed. Most people gave at least one can! My sister made a flyer for me to show to people, and I wrote down what I needed to say.

I am proud of all the cans I collected because they are going to go to a good cause.

When I go to Kroger with my Mom I always see that they are collecting food in the big bins that says Feeding America. When I asked my mom she told that there are so many people who do not have enough money to buy their food and most of them are kids. I felt so sad to learn that some kids do not have food to eat.

So I thought of collecting food, so that at least some of them can get good food during holidays. My mom helped me in collecting all the items I needed and carrying them to Kroger. She called few of her friends to see if they can donate any items for me. Next day she drove me to their houses to collect the food. Thank You for all their generosity.

I feel really happy for doing this for my Real Karate Kids project.

Christmas is the best time to share and give some toys to kids who do not have parents or to the kids who live away from their home.

So, I make at least one kid happy by donating all the coins in my Piggy bank.  My sisters and my parents were nice enough to donate too.  I donated all the collected coins to Clark Christmas Kids.

Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization in Burns, Tennessee where I adopted with my family our Boston Terrier, Layla. I have been saving money from my allowance to make a donation to Proverbs to help with the cost of rescuing and caring for the animals in their care.

As stated by Lavonne Redferrin, Director of Proverbs, “We have rescued and cared for many pets no one else would consider taking in due to the huge medical expenses necessary to save their lives.” Again this year, Proverbs has helped and placed in homes over 600 pets. Aadarsh and I collected canned food to donate to the North Gwinnett Co-Operative Food Bank that will be donated to people who need them most.  We collected an amazing amount of 59 cans in 2 days!

We went around our neighborhood asking for canned food.  If they didn’t have any canned food, we asked for money, so we can buy some for them.

Our purpose for collecting canned food is, there are dozens of people who can’t afford to buy food.  In the food bank, a worker told us that nothing goes to waste.  Whatever is left over from that week’s donation is collected by a farmer, who feeds his animals the leftover food.  We are really glad that we donated the collected canned food.

My brother Vivek and I called some of our neighbors and friends and requested them to donate winter wear to charity. We then went around and collected them, including the clothes our mother gave us.

On November 21st we went and gave the clothes to the Goodwill Donation center in our area.
